SQA Test Engineer

You will be a member of ORC’s QA team. This team will be tightly integrated with the development organization and responsible for rapid development of automated unit tests as well as integration tests. You will be working closely with developers and product owners to define test strategies, develop and debug tests and analyze test coverage. Both negative testing and positive testing is required as is white/black box testing.

Required Experience:

• Experience developing and designing automated tests using test harnesses in a fast paced environment
• Extensive working knowledge with scripting and other languages: Perl, Shell, Java, C, C++, and others
• Ability to discuss and contribute to technical design/architecture and development of complex automation systems
• Working knowledge of code coverage tools and experience improving test coverage
• Solid understanding of both Windows and Linux environments
• Previous experience in testing or assuring the quality of complex software systems such as kernels, OS components, drivers, etc.
• Strong communication skills and experience interacting with other teams throughout product life cycles
• Ability to estimate manpower and duration of test projects
• BS/MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar field
• 7+ years of industry experience in Quality Assurance or Development roles

Desired Skills:

• Experience with C/C++ is a plus
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum a plus
• Experience with Test Driven Development
• Experience testing client/server applications
• Performance Testing
• Java and web based UI Testing
• Experience testing distributed systems
• Understanding of Object oriented programming methodologies and design patterns
• Certification experience with Microsoft and other 3rd parties a plus
